How gratuity is calculated

This calculator uses the formula most commonly applied in Pakistan: one month's last-drawn basic salary for every completed year of service. For example, a basic salary of Rs 80,000 with 6 completed years works out to roughly Rs 480,000.

Your actual entitlement can differ from this estimate because gratuity rules depend on which labour law covers your employment (e.g. the West Pakistan Industrial and Commercial Employment Ordinance for many private-sector roles, or your company's own service rules) and what your employment contract says. Some employers calculate on gross salary rather than basic, or use a different multiplier — always check your appointment letter or HR policy for the exact formula that applies to you.
