Make a QR Code With Logo for Links, WiFi and vCards
Make a styled QR code for a link, text, WiFi network or contact card — colors, shapes and a logo included.
About QR Code Generator
QR Code Generator builds a scannable QR code from one of four things: a web link, plain text, a WiFi network, or a contact card (vCard). Pick the type, fill in its fields, and the code on the right updates as you type — there's no Generate button because it's always live.
Beyond the data itself, you can restyle how the code looks: dot and corner shapes, solid colors or a two-color gradient, a background color, and an optional logo dropped in the middle. People use the styling to match a code to a brand or a printed design, rather than shipping the plain black-and-white squares most generators produce.
A QR code holds far more data than a 1D barcode and includes built-in error correction, which is what makes a logo in the middle possible at all — the code is still readable even with part of it covered, up to a point. WiFi and vCard codes are written in the specific structured text format phones already recognise, so scanning one offers "Join network" or "Save contact" directly, not just a block of text.
How to use QR Code Generator
- Choose a QR code type: Web link, Plain text, WiFi network, or vCard contact.
- Fill in that type's fields — a URL, free text, a network name and password, or a name and contact details.
- Open Style to set dot and corner shapes, pick colors or turn on a gradient, and optionally add a logo.
- Drag Size to the pixel dimensions you need, and watch the preview update live.
- Scan the preview with your phone's camera to confirm it reads correctly, then click Download PNG.
Tips for best results
- Keep strong contrast between the dot color and background. Light dots on a light background look fine on screen but can fail to scan entirely.
- A logo is centered automatically at a size chosen to leave the surrounding code intact; it isn't meant to replace half the code, so avoid very wide or tall logos that would need to be squeezed.
- For print, generate at a larger size than you think you need — scaling a small PNG up afterwards blurs the sharp edges scanners rely on, while scaling a large one down is lossless.
- A WiFi code only has to be scanned once per device, so it's a fast way to hand out guest network access without reading a password aloud.
- Gradients look striking on screen but reduce contrast in places; if a gradient-styled code fails to scan in testing, switch to a solid dot color.
Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between this and the Barcode Generator?
A QR code is a 2D grid that any phone camera can scan and that can hold a lot more data — a whole WiFi login or contact card, not just a short code. The Barcode Generator makes a 1D Code 128 barcode instead, which needs a barcode-style scanner and suits inventory or asset tags better than a phone-scanned link or contact.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. The QR code is generated and drawn entirely in your browser; nothing you type, and no logo you upload, is ever sent to a server.
Will adding a logo stop the code from scanning?
The error correction level is raised automatically to High as soon as you add a logo, which lets roughly 30% of the code be covered or damaged and still scan correctly. Keep the logo small relative to the code — this tool keeps it at a sensible size automatically — and always test-scan before printing a large batch.
Which QR types are supported?
Web link, plain text, a WiFi network (scan to join) and a vCard contact card (scan to save). Each one writes the specific text format phones look for — a WiFi QR isn't just the network name as plain text, for example, it's a structured string phones recognise as a join request.
Why is there still a password field when I choose an open WiFi network?
An open network has no password, so the field is ignored and left out of the code when Security is set to None — you can leave it blank. For WPA or WEP, the password is required because the generated code needs it to let a scanning phone connect.
Can I make a vCard with just a phone number and no name?
No, a first or last name is required so the contact saves with something to call it; every other field — phone, email, organisation, website — is optional and left out of the code if you don't fill it in.
What image format does this download as?
PNG, at whatever size you set with the slider, including the logo and styling baked into the image.
